Nothing like a deadline to motivate you to act. The Candy Cane Tour of Homes organized earlier this month by the women of Keep Hardin County Beautiful had us putting up Christmas trees before Thanksgiving. Just like major retailers!
I'm happy to report there was little in the way of Black Friday pushing and shoving, except for the dark hour Mark and I spent trying to set up the Lionel "Polar Express" train set that was supposed to toodle around under the tree. We couldn't get the darn thing to go. After trying Lionel's suggested work around, which involved taking a hammer to the tracks' contact points and bending them, we gave up and shipped the train to Lionel for a look-see or a replacement.
Sigh. Into each life, a little snow must fall.
Except for this Christmas. It's 46 degrees and sunny right now in beautiful Ada, 68 degrees in New York City. That's warmer than Los Angeles, which is expecting a high today of only 61.
May your Christmas be warm in other ways: warmth of love, of friendship, of memories. Merry Christmas.
